We are seeking a Property Manager/Director to maintain our off grid property within our simple philosophy of low environmental impact and long term sustainability. You are the heart of a strong community built upon the simple philosophies of doing rather than talking and fixing rather than complaining.                                                                                      
The position requires that you reside on the Wollangarra property. You will be provided with accommodation in Wollangarra’s Homestead, nestled in the Gippsland foothills overlooking the Macalister River.                                

About the Opportunity                                                                                                                                             
Reporting to the Council Chair, the Property Manager/Director will oversee, undertake and coordinate the maintenance of Wollangarra property, facilities, livestock and equipment to an appropriate safe standard.          

This is an outstanding opportunity for experienced property and facilities leader/s who is/are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to experience the joys and challenges of simple living off the grid and safely exploring the mountains. You will be required to work collaboratively with the Program Manager to ensure the success of programs and the time the young people, volunteers and community members spend at Wollangarra. The Property Manager/ Director position includes accommodation, food and utility costs in addition to a sustainable honorarium.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the property, buildings and equipment to ensure a safe environment that meets the needs of the leaders and participants.
• Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the success of the programs for young people. 
• Foster an awareness of self, community and the environment in young people. 
• Encourage participation in conservation through outdoor education. 
• Ensure high standards of safety for young people. 
• Manage the Wollangarra flat, programs and leaders as per the Operations Manual.
• Liaise with local communities and groups to maintain and build local support for the work we do in developing young people.                                                                                                                                    

About You
You are a collaborative leader who brings:

• Broad experience in the hands-on coordination and completion of the maintenance of property, buildings, and equipment
• A “can do” positive approach to your work and life.
• Passion to work with, educate and lead young people. 
• Interest and ability to learn new skills and approaches to problems.
• Solid budget management and finance experience. 
• Strong community involvement and relationship building experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
